I AM YOUR DAUGHTER…..
Dear Dad,
Never say -You are not my daughter, but my son,
Please give me my own identity, not of someone,
For my individuality lies in being feminine.
Let me tell you I don’t despise myself at all,
Neither do I feel susceptible enough to be confined,
Rather I cherish and embrace every inch of mine,
For the simple reason, I am born as a girl,
My question is why can’t I shine?
The moniker ‘Daughter’ is good enough for me,
Alas!Pseudo-identity or false proclaim to me never defined,
Wish, you could have understood what I really pine,
Wanted my own identity, not of masculine.
Perhaps the more you made me feel equal, the more unequal I have felt,
Yet, I hope, one day I become someone to whom you recognize,
Accept me for what I am with all dignity and highs,
No longer feels favoring a gender is fine,
I would surely be someone who makes you feel on cloud nine,
And you proudly exclaim to the whole world- ‘This daughter is mine’.

Your ever loving daughter Writer
